Kirchzarten & the Black Forest

Our farm lies in the tranquil district of Dietenbach, near Kirchzarten. It is located in the beautiful Dreisamtal valley, offering an ideal starting point for walks and hikes. Enjoy the cosy cafes, various small shops and leisure activities such as the Dreisambad swimming pool, all in Kirchzarten.

The herb garden in Oberried offers an ideal spot to stroll and relax. Here you can discover with all your senses (either on your own or as part of a guided walk) many kitchen and medicinal herbs and also enjoy the healing power of the herbs.

The Black Forest Nature Park offers numerous opportunities for attractive walking routes, where you can experience at first hand the superb panoramic views and unique nature. (St. Peter, St. Märgen).

The Todtnau Waterfalls are also always a recommendable excursion. They are an impressive natural experience all times of the year.

Exploring tours to the Black Forest cabins are very popular. There are usually fine culinary delights on offer once you arrive.

Freiburg, the city steeped in culture, is also only a few kilometres away. You may just be tempted to do a bit of shopping. Picturesque alleys and many small streams which cut through the Freiburg centre give the city a unique charm. The Titisee and Schluchsee lakes are additional popular excursion destinations suitable for young and old, both only a few kilometres away from our farm. And those who would like to enjoy the unique view across the Black Forest will be suitably impressed by making a trip to one of the nearby Black Forest summits; Feldberg, Schauinsland or Belchen.

We (and the region’s Tourist Info centres) can also personally suggest many other day trips, such as Europapark in Rust, Lake Constance, Colmar in France, Switzerland, Cassiopeia Thermal Baths in Badenweiler or Badeparadies Schwarzwald waterpark in Titisee-Neustadt.
